Job Purpose
The Human Resources Recruiter and Onboarding Specialist handles recruiting, hiring, onboarding, along with additional general HR tasks. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the recruitment and onboarding process, from sourcing and attracting talent through generating recruitment plans to extending offers (when warranted) and onboarding for positions at all levels.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, job specifications, duties and responsibilities, competencies, qualifications, and skills.
- Post and maintain job postings in ADP, Indeed, Handshake, etc. Includes screening applicants and sharing qualified candidates with the hiring team, conduct phone screenings, schedule in-person interviews and participate in applicant interviews as needed.
- Provide guidance and reference information/materials to hiring managers in preparation for applicant interviews.
· Coordinate and participate in various off-site career and job fairs.
- Coordinate with external recruiters and outside employment agencies to attract and identify select candidates when necessary.
- Complete and distribute weekly recruiting/staffing reports.
- Research, identify and recommend best practices for full cycle recruitment function, including assessing current recruiting and onboarding process and make recommendations for improvement.
- Execution and coordination of the onboarding and orientation process with new associates. Works with hiring manager to ensure orientation and onboarding is a smooth process.
- Works closely with the HR team to understand company specific benefits information for onboarding process.
- Supports various payroll duties including:
- Establishing new hires in the Payroll system (ADP).
- Removing terminated employees from the payroll system and ensuring final pay is correct.
- Perform reference and background checks.
- Creates offer letters; ensures all hiring paperwork is signed for employee file, including proper i9 documentation.
- Creates and maintains employee files.
- Oversees various other functions including:
- Assisting in organizing employee activities, including Coffee & Conversations.
- Preparing and distributing New Hire Packets.
- Coordinating the company Discount Travel Passports Program.
- Assisting with company trainings.
- Coordinate internal BPG Internship Programing.
- Promotes and enhances positive customer relations.
- Maintains accuracy and efficiency according to established departmental standards.
- Assumes additional duties and responsibilities as requested.
Qualifications
- Communication Skills: Proven written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work successfully as an individual and on a team
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- A working knowledge of Human Resource functions.
- Strong interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with a diverse group of internal and external contacts.
- Strong working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office.
- Requires analytical and organizational skills necessary to handle complex inquiries and attempt to resolve them in a quick and efficient manner.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business administration or other related field preferred.
Experience
- 3-5 years of professional experience in the human resources field preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Requires prolonged sitting.
- Requires frequent operation of office equipment; such as a computer, copy machine, telephone, etc.
- Occasional stretching and / or bending to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.
- Occasional standing and walking required.
