BPG|SPORTS, operator of the Chase Fieldhouse and affiliate of The Buccini/Pollin Group, was proud to host the first Southbridge Community Youth Sports Day last Saturday, September 25th, in collaboration with the Southbridge Civic Association. This inaugural event was held at the brand new Chase Fields, located at 708 A Street in Wilmington.
An estimated 70 neighborhood children, ages 8-16, participated in the Youth Sports Day, which included a number of activities ranging from soccer skills & drills to dance and cheerleading to tug-of-war. The day kicked off with opening remarks from 4th District Councilwoman Michele Harlee at 9:30AM and was follow by drills and activities through 2PM with a break for lunch.
The goal of the Southbridge Community Youth Sports Day was to celebrate and bring together communities through sports and athletics, and it did just that. The day would not have been possible without the help and support of the Southbridge Civic Association, Sporting Delaware, Coreten Fitness, DE NFL Flag, Network Connect, HX Innovations, Dance4Life, Flexkings Training, Neighborhood House, and Mt. Joy United Methodist Church.
“When we started construction on our new turf complex, we were most excited about the community events we’d be able to host on these new fields,” said Steve Cavalier, BPG|SPORTS General Manager. “The Southbridge Community Youth Sports Day is the perfect manifestation of our vision for these fields. Through deep continued partnerships in our community, the expansion of BPG|SPORTS is a win for everyone.”
“As part of our ongoing commitment providing more opportunities for youth in Wilmington, we are proud to partner with these outstanding organizations that helped make this day possible,” added Rob Buccini, Co-President of The Buccini/Pollin Group. “BPG|SPORTS will continue supporting our local youth through sports activities such as the Southbridge Sports Day to help build a better future for those in our hometown.”
